  • Questions about our Activities
How long does an activity take? Most activities, from start to finish takes about 3 hours. We have found that this is suitable for most groups. If you would like an activity shorter or longer, please call us to discuss your needs. Some of our activities are shorter and this is detailed on our website. How fit do I need to be? All our programs that include following clues (Scavenger Hunt, Amazing Race, Urban Challenge) include lots of clues to plan your route. Some of the clues are more active than others but you can choose which you do and which you skip. It can be as long or as short as you like. Most of our Activities that include walking are between 3 and 5 kms in length. In most of our activities not all team members must complete each challenge, this enables you to work as a team to decide who does which challenge. I can’t walk very far, does that matter? This really depends on the activity. Many of our activities do cover a wide area but enable you to plan your route. This helps teams decide if they want to do the clues close together or those that are farther apart. We make sure the overall distance will be about 3-5kms. To make sure we can meet the needs of all of your team members, please give us a call to discuss any modifications that may need to be made. Do I need to bring any money? You do not need to bring any money but you may wish to have a couple dollars on hand in case you want to purchase water or some snacks while you are out and about. How many people on each team? In our experience, team sizes of 5-7 are ideal. This size enables everyone to participate and contribute to the activity. Do you determine the team make-up or do I? The make-up of your teams is purely up to you. You can come with the teams already decided or we can randomly build the teams for you. If you would like your team to have a mix of staff who know each other well and those that don’t, we recommend selecting teams at random. This helps build the bonds and connections between team mates. If your activity has multiple departments attending, you can be a bit competitive between departments or mix them up. Do we need to use our own smartphone? This depends on the activity you have chosen to do. We do have some clues that require a member of your team to send us photos to gain points. We may also text you a bonus clue. We strongly discourage you from using your smartphone to find answers or locations, there are plenty of people who know the area that you can ask. Where will we be meeting? Prior to the scheduled activity day, we will provide you with the time and location of the start. TeamLab will be at the location at least 30 minutes prior to the start time waiting for you to arrive. Who do I contact if I am running late? If your group is going to be late to the meeting point, please contact TeamLab Team Building Perth on 0411 630 197. If one of your team mates is running late, let a colleague who is attending to let us know. We will remain at the starting point after the teams have left for about 20 minutes for anyone that is running late. What if we get lost? We understand that this is a possibility and sometimes unforeseen circumstances happen, such as time getting away from you. At the start of the activity, we provide you with a contact phone number of one of our team members if you need to contact us. Where do you run your activities? We run most of our outdoor activities in Fremantle and the Perth CBD, as they are the most popular requests. If you would like an activity run in another area, please give us a call. We are West Australians so have a very good knowledge of the state. One of our team members uses a wheelchair, can this be accommodated? TeamLab values the diversity of our community. If any of your team members have additional requirements that require accommodating, please give us a call to discuss those requirements. We try to ensure all of our events are physically accessible, but unfortunately some parts of our community are not fully accessible. Contact us and we will ensure that our program is accommodating to the needs of your staff. Do you provide water and sunscreen? We do provide sunscreen during all of our outdoor activities, and we encourage everyone to apply sunscreen before attending. Please make sure you bring a hat and a water bottle for the activity, especially in the summer months. We recommend everyone dress for the weather and walking, moving and bending. If you need to purchase water during the activity, please bring a few dollars. Do you travel to regional WA to deliver your activities? Yes, we love getting out to regional WA! Travel and accommodation costs will be additional expenses. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

  • Questions about our Self-Guided Experiences
What do I need to make a booking? To make a booking you will need to know the total number of players that will be participating, how many teams of up to 4 people you will have, the email address of each team captain, and credit card details for payment. You will also be asked to enter your mobile number and email to receive the links to share with the other players. How many teams can play? We recommend teams of 3-4 players which means you can have up to 5 teams. This activity is not suitable to more than 5 teams as each team will need to have a staggered start time to ensure everyone is not participating as a large group. Do we have to be on a team to play? As a team building activity, it is recommended that you are on a team. The Hunt also allows for teams of 2 players. I made a booking, what happens next? Once the booking is made, yourself and each team captain will receive an email with details of the scavenger hunt and how it works. This will also include the link to ‘play now’. Please only click this link once you are at the location and ready to play. If you have not received it, please check your junk mail. You will also receive an SMS/text message to your nominated mobile number. This text message will have a link for each team captain. You will forward the relevant link to the relevant team captain. This is the link they will use to play on the day. Do I have to book online? No. This is an option for your convenience. If you wish to book directly, contact TeamLab Team Building Perth by phone (0411 630 197) or email (info@teamlab.com.au). I did not get the link? Please check your junk email or give us a call. How will I get the link? The link to start the Hunt will be provided to you by email/text/SMS to the email/phone number you entered into the booking. I am the captain, how does my team join the game? You will receive a text/SMS with a link to the Hunt from the person who made the booking. Forward this link to everyone in your team when you are ready to go. Everyone will be able to login into the game on their individual phones and follow along. Only one person will be required to enter in the answers. How does everyone else get their link to start? The team captain will receive the link from the person who made the booking and will then text the link to each of their team members. How do we start? Go to the starting location detailed in the email or in the link sent via text message to your phone. Do not click ‘Play Now’ until everyone is at the starting location and ready to start. Once Play Now is selected, the timer starts. When can we start the Hunt? You can start your Hunt whenever your team is ready to go. As this Hunt is self-guided, you can do you Hunt at any time or day that suits your group. Where does the Hunt start? Each Hunt has a different starting point. Details of the start location are in the email and in the link sent via text message to your mobile phone. You can also find the general start locations on our website: www.teamlab.com.au Do we all have to start at once? This depends on how many teams you have. Each team will be following the same route so we recommend staggering the starting times by 2-3 minutes allowing each team to spread out. Your timer will start once you click ‘Play Now’ from the home screen and get your first clue. Beware: Each teams answers are live on their mobile phones In each team of up to 4 players, only one person needs to answer the question. Be aware that once that person enters the answer and clicks ‘OK’, or ‘continue’ after the ‘Did you Know’, it automatically updates on all team member’s phones. We recommend that one person be selected to ‘use’ the application at any one time, and that they do not move on until everyone in the team is ready to. Other team members may need to refresh the page if it does not automatically go to the next screen. Is there a rest break included? Yes, we have included a rest break at about the half-way mark. Here you can pause the timer. There are numerous cafés, bars and street art at this location for you to rest, mingle with the other teams, and debate who will win. How far do I have to walk? Our tours are between 3 and 5 kilometres in length around city streets, laneways and arcades. You can do the Hunt as fast or as slow as you like. How long does a Hunt typically take? A Hunt typically takes 2-3hrs to complete and includes a rest stop for a snack or drink. If you take longer in the rest stop, your Hunt may take longer. Is this Hunt accessible? The Hunt travels around a local area. We have taken mobility needs into consideration when planning our routes, but sometimes there is roadworks or issues that we are not aware of. The Hunt does require reading clues from a smartphone, if a team member has difficulty with reading or vision, assistance may be required from other team members. Alternatively, functionality is available in iPhone settings under Accessibility that will read the screen contents. How do I start the game? The captain will receive a text message with the link to start the game. The captain will forward the link to their team members. Tap on the link to open the game, read the introduction and click on Play Now to start playing. If you have several teams, we recommend staggering the start times by 2-3 minutes. Only click on the Play Now link when you are ready to go. This will start the timer and may affect your score at the end, particularly if the scores are close. Can I change the team captains? The team captain is the person who will receive the link to the game to share with their team members. Any one person on the team can enter the answers; it does not have to be the captain. If the captain is not available to play the game, please contact us with the details of a new captain. Can we use more than one phone per team? Yes, you can. Each team member can use their own phone. Only one person will be required to enter the answers. The game will automatically update for everyone on the team. What happens if we cannot make it? If you have booked a Hunt and are unable to make it on the day, that is OK. Your Hunt is available for 6 months from the time of booking. We do not offer refunds for cancellations or non-attendees. Is there a Leader Board? Sure is! What is a game without a leader board? You can view the leaderboard during the game using the icons at the bottom of the screen. Is this leisurely or can we compete? This is your Hunt and totally up to you. Consider who is in your group before deciding if it is competitive or leisurely. As a team building activity, it is important that everyone is able to participate in the way they wish and takes into consideration the capabilities of all team members. A slightly leisurely pace allows team members to chat and get to know each other. Can you design a course just for us? Of course we can! We love creating new courses. Give us a call to discuss your idea. We can also modify a current course to include specific clues or locations. Is this Hunt only in English? Yes, the Hunt is currently only available in English. What should we wear? In short, something comfortable. This Hunt will cover between 3 and 5 kms on footpaths, crossing roads, through arcades and through laneways. Some of these surfaces may be uneven. Please ensure everyone wears shoes that are suitable for walking. You may also choose to visit a café or bar during or after your Hunt, please take dress codes into consideration for this. I am a Perth local, will I enjoy this? Of course! Perth and the surrounding suburbs have so much to offer that we often do not see in our day-to-day life. And it is changing every day. Come with the enthusiasm to have some fun, see the city, and get to know your colleagues. Can I add another team to my group? Yes, we can help you add a new team to your group. Just give us a call or drop us an email with the details. Please include the name of the person who made the purchase, date if you know it, and the following for the new team: name of captain, phone number and email of captain, number of people on the new team, up to 4.
