3 Ways to Build Bonds & Make an Impact

The Power of Charity Team Building.

Team building is not just about boosting morale or improving workplace dynamics. It can also be used to make a positive impact on the world. TeamLab's Charity Focused team building activities combine the best of both worlds: strengthening teams while contributing to meaningful causes.

The Power of Giving Back

Charity Focus Team Building Events have gained popularity in recent years, and for good reason. They provide you with a unique opportunity to align your corporate values with acts of social responsibility. These events offer a win-win scenario, where teams grow stronger, and communities benefit from the goodwill generated.

The TeamLab Approach

At TeamLab, we believe in the power of purpose-driven team building. Our charity team building events are thoughtfully designed to make a difference, locally and globally.

Building Stronger Teams

  1. Collaboration and Unity: Charity events require teams to work together toward a common goal—supporting a charitable cause. This collaborative effort strengthens bonds among team members, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.

  2. Leadership and Problem-Solving: Teams will encounter challenges during charity events.  These experiences highlight collaborative approaches as well as uncover hidden leadership qualities within your team.

  3. Enhanced Communication: Teams must coordinate efforts, delegate tasks, and share updates, improving communication skills that translate to the workplace.

Making a Positive Impact

  1. Community Engagement: Charity team building events bring teams closer to their communities. By contributing time and resources to causes, organisations show their commitment to social responsibility.

  2. Building Goodwill: Giving back fosters goodwill both internally and externally. Employees feel proud to be part of the organisation, and clients/ customers appreciate companies that prioritise social impact.

  3. Raising Awareness: Events raise awareness about important issues. Whether it's supporting local charities, environmental causes, or social justice initiatives, you  can become a catalyst for positive change.

Here are a few Charity Focus Events that TeamLab runs. These are becoming very popular which makes us really happy. We have set some goals and would love to have you on board to reach them together.

large group building bikes for children

Many of us have great memories of our first bike, and the sense of freedom it brings. There are also many children that do not have the opportunity to feel this joy and freedom. In this activity, teams will 'earn' the parts build a bike that will be donated to a child through our charity partners.

Goal - 20 Bikes delivered to children by April 2024

Result - 20 children now have access to transport, freedom, fun and adventure

large group building a solar light

The 'Hour of Power' has each participant assemble a solar light to be donated to a child living in energy poverty. You will learn about energy poverty and its impact and then be given a solar light to build. Once the light is built, the next step is to write a letter of encouragement to the child who will receive the solar light.

A minimum of 25 lights will be built, for smaller groups this means double the impact with approximately 2 lights built per person.

Goal - 50 Solar Buddy Lights built by April 2024

Result - In education 365,000 hours of extra night-time study hours created over 3 years, 250 Lives Impacted, 64 Tonnes of CO2 emissions reduced.

group building a prosthetic hand

Imagine navigating the world with only one hand. This is the reality for thousands of people each year due to land mines, accidents and poor health care.

In this activity teams are given the parts they need and full instructions on how to build a working prosthetic hand. Once the hand is built and tested by the team, they write a personal note and decorate the bag in which the hand will be delivered to the recipient. This connection to the recipient, shows the commitment the team has to making a positive impact on a person's life.

TeamLab will collect the completed hands and return them to our partner for distribution to recipients in developing countries.

Goal - 20 Helping Hands built by April 2024

Result - Life changing for the recipients in independence, ability to work, etc. As well has helping to achieve the Australian goal of building 30,000 by the end of 2030 (currently at 24,689).
